Today we walked for almost four hours at the heathland in Hilversum together with Tonda, Čenda, Amigo, their people Katka and Honza and Debbie. It was such a joy for the Senjis and owners! I took a lot of pictures, a selection can be found below. The entire album can be found on Flickr.
The Dutch Basenji Specialty was held on Saturday September 17 in Woerden. It was extra special for us, because all Aoide's puppies from the "Shameless" litter were present. Jody was there with his pregnant owner, who even handled him herself in the ring and Tonda came with his humans and Basenji-brothers all the way from the Czech Republic! The four 'puppies', mom Aoide and Mirtillo were all entered for the show. The judge was Erwin Manders. Jody (Suaralayn Karma Houdini) and Tonda (Suaralayn Orange Boy) were both entered in the intermediate class. Jody became third with a Very Good and Tonda got a Good. Mirtillo was shown in the veteran class for the first time. He got a 1 Excellent and became Best Veteran! Debbie (Suaralayn Pollyanna Principle) was the first of our girls that was allowed to enter the ring. She was beautifully handled by Marieke and became second in intermediate class with a Very Good. Then it was Maeva's turn. She was shown in the breeders class. She also got a second place with a Very Good. Mom Aoide became third in champion class with an Excellent. At the end of the day, Mirtillo and Aoide were shown together for the first time. They became second best pair. Aoide also entered the ring with her two sons and daughters in the progeny class. Together they won a wonderful first place and became Best Progeny group! A great end to an already perfect day!
All the pictures can be found on our Flickr account. Suaralayn Orange Boy "Tonda" won a second place (out of 13) and a reserve CACT at an LC competition in the Czech Republic this weekend! Way to go Tonda!
Maeva was shown at the international dog shows in Rotterdam this weekend. She was the only female in intermediate class on both days. Saturday she earned a 1 Excellent. The judge was the very kind Mrs. Saija Juutilainen from Finland and this was her report of Maev: "19 months, nicely made, balanced young female. Correct bone. Beautiful feet. Strong hindquarters and low hocks. Nice head type with correct skull and wrinkles. Big ears, strong neck. A bit low set and open tail. Beautiful coat, skin and colour. Lovely temperament. Moves parallel still a bit close, very easy going from profile. Nice topline. " After the show on Saturday we went to Jeroen, Marieke and Beau. We made a long walk, got some delicious food and spent the night. Marieke joined us to the show on Sunday. Maeva got a 1 Very Good this time. The judge was Mrs. Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen from Finland and she wasn't really impressed with Maev. This was her judge report: "(..not readable..), could be more compact in general impression, long in body. Good shape of head, eyes could be darker. A little upright in shoulder and upperarm. Still needs to get more depth of brisket and more substance on the body. Well angulated behind, tail could be higher set and tighter curled. Good drive when moving, but a little close behind. Behaved well" The rest of the day was lovely. We again made a long walk with Jeroen, Marieke and Beau. This time I brought the camera. A selection of the pictures can be found below. The pictures of Maeva at the show were made by Marieke. We spent a long afternoon at the veterinary specialist centre in Wageningen today. Mirtillo had his ECVO/eye exam renewed (only minor PPM) and he went to the dentist for a complete check-up, including X-rays. Maeva's knees were examined by the orthopedic surgeon and she's patella luxation free, yay! Her first step to a (hopefully) future litter. On the picture Maeva with her head resting on her sister Debbie.. patiently waiting for her turn. She was so relaxed during the exam, I was and am very proud of and happy with her. Happy and proud! Suaralayn Orange Boy "Tonda" was shown at the Czech Basenji Specialty last weekend. He became second in intermediate class with an Excellent and R-CAC! Well done Tonda and owners, you rock!
Suaralayn Orange Boy "Tonda" entered his first official coursing competition in the Czech Republic last Saturday and won (1/8)!! Way to go Tonda! We are very proud of you! Markéta Sousedíková made some beautiful pictures of Tonda in action.
We are again very proud of Suaralayn Chaos Junkie "Maeva"! This morning she was shown at the international dog show 'De Utrecht'. She got an Excellent in Youth class and earned her second JCAC! The judge was Mrs. A.M.Th. Gielisse. She wrote a lovely critique:
"15 months. Bitch of beautiful type. Feminine appearance. Nice size. Good head with beautiful expression. Lovely wrinkles on head. Ears could be a fraction smaller. Nice transition from neck to back, nice topline. Good angulation in front and hind legs, very balanced. Beautiful bone and good feet. Tail could be slightly better, it's carried a bit open. Lovely thigh, well muscled. Nice colour and coat. Already moves very pure for her age." Pretty Maeva entered the ring at the international dog show in Groningen last weekend. The judge went over all the dogs on the ground. A complete new experience for Maeva, but she had no problem with it whatsoever. She got a 1 Excellent in youth class with her first JCAC and became best bitch with her first CAC.
The judge was Mr. M. Inzoli from Italy and this was his judge report: "Feminine in general. Correct size. Correct wrinkles and expression. Correct neck. A little bit long in loins. Correct topline in movement. Quite good croup. Free movement. Quite good size of ears. 1 Excellent, JCAC, CAC" |
